Back to the Future: The growing Consumer Revolution in Real Estate

Fifteen years after the original event in Boston, we're inviting Boston Globe readers, BostonNow readers, and others to help us plan a "unconference" for real estate consumers. Everyone is invited to participate, but the event will focus primarily on money-saving B2C, C2C & P2P tools, tips, and web sites for homebuyers and sellers (for sale by owner, OpenMLS, fee-for-service business models, interactive mapping, etc.). Presentations on other timely issues and industry reforms, such as the Real Estate Consumer Bill of Rights, real estate bubble, uncoupling real estate commisssions, cause marketing in real estate, are also welcome. If you are not familar with the unconference movement, visit some of the links on BarCamp. Here's the registration list for the last BarCamp in Boston, the recently complete PodCampBoston2, and a temporary registration list for the proposed real estate unconference in Boston (date to be announced):

The Consumer Revolution (back cover of pamphlet in 1993)
The real estate industry is at an historic turning point. Changes are occuring in many sectors of the industry to inform, protect or empower home buyers, sellers, and owners. Our conference and exhibit area will showcase these consumer-oriented innovations and explain the right of home buyers and sellers to be represented by their own real estate agent. Whether you are a home buyer, home seller, or home owner, this conference will provide valuable information to save you money.
